I guess I'll be the odd one out, but I see a pretty big difference with this for Nintendo Switch and below. If you still have it and want to try something a little different, you should try setting the output of your console to 720p, the resolution of your TV to 1440p, and let the upscaler do its job. I found it fairly noticeable when playing BotW on the original Switch. It did a great job of smoothing out all the jaggies. It's not going to suddenly make your games look 4k, and if those are the expectations you're going in with you're going to leave disappointed. If you go in understanding what it does you may have a better experience. Like I mentioned with BotW on Switch when playing on a 65" TV the jaggies were very noticeable. So I guess maybe consider your TV size as well before buying. At this price I feel like it's worth your time to try it and if you don't like it, send it back.

These things have been $100 forever and were never discounted. They've been steeply discounted for the last couple months.

I bought the retro one and honestly didn't notice a thing.. I don't get this thing at all. Returned it.

Buy a hd upscaler for $10 that doesn't need its own power supply https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0753CZ8MC

I've been using this one on my backwards compatible ps3 for a few years. I'll be honest, I don't really see any difference for the ps3 and ps2 games. Not sure if it works better for other consoles.

Agreed. People need to look at the scaling chart on the listing for their intended use. If your system already outputs 1080p, it's only going to bump you to 1440p at best. However, if your system outputs 720p @24/25/30Hz, it'll upscale to 2160p, which is a huge jump. And for older systems that output 480p@60Hz, it upscales to 1080p.

Didn't get the YMMV coupon on this but hopefully it's a sign that it will come down a little more. Thanks OP.

I use this for PS3 and I can notice it considerably. Maybe it depends on the game. It also works great for the Wii.

It adds a form of anti-aliasing to remove jaggies. Not sure if this one upscales, but mine will upscale too.

Damn, so maybe on my 1080p systems I need a downscaler to 720p first, so that I can get it to then upscale to 2160p instead of 1440p.

upscales the console output. instead of the TV stretching to big pixels and reduce the lag input.

Is there a difference between the "original", "retro" & "switch versions? It seems like the color might be the only thing that changes?
