You are down voted because your experience is far from universal. I don't have a winco and have never seen a Walmart gas station lol

Winco is good but that not good. Plus Costco really sines on some of the organic stuff - almost similar prices as Winco non-organic. Generally quality of produce is better at Costco.

Gotta price match those chicken sausage links. Just got them a few days ago. Kinda slim pickings...wish they had more frozen chicken products on sale

Many thanks for posting!

Costco is across the street from Walmart gas here, always same price. I also don't like Costco and choose not to pay a fee to shop in a crowded warehouse and fight over parking. Winco and other grocers easily match/beat prices... and I don't get stuck with three months supply of things. But, I get it... Costco is a cult.. People will defend it like a family member. No shame in that, just not my thing,

Half of the items are vitamins and supplements. Bogus placebo trash that's a total money maker. Ugh!

I usually see it like this:Normal Costco prices are usually cheaper than normal supermarket prices.Sale supermarket prices are usually cheaper than normal Costco prices.Sale Costco prices are usually cheaper than sale supermarket prices.Costco also frequently has organic versions of things for the same price as regular items which can up the value as well. All of this is "usually" true but there are always exceptions and obviously you should compare prices yourself and not just blindly buy things.
As much as I like Costco, they don't sell everything that I buy.
I also buy groceries from Kroger, there is a particular item that Kroger has on a sale cycle that I regularly stock up on when it is on sale, Costco doesn't carry this item. This item is on sale usually every 6 weeks or so.
I do stock up on one item at Costco that is only on sale once a year and it is drastically cheaper at Costco than anywhere else. I get a years worth of that item.
I get other stuff at Costco too. But I only shop there about once a month.
I'm seeing things in this sneak peek that are on my list.
I'm not going miles out of my way to shop the different stores, Kroger is a half mile from my home Costco warehouse.

I was going to rush there later this morning to get the Allerflo nasal spray but it's going back on sale so now I can wait and go on a weekday.
I'll also get some of the Rao's sauce.
Even when it's not on sale it's so much cheaper at Costco.

That generic comment rubs salt ...

Total paid membership: 81.4 million

"Executive Tier Momentum: Executive memberships are growing nearly twice as fast as the general membership base (+9.1% vs +5.2%). This is significant because Executive members account for roughly 74.3% of Costco's total sales, despite being less than half of the paid member base.
Renewal Rates: Loyalty remains exceptionally high. 92.2%"

If you have the executive card , the money back at the end of the year pays for your memberships. You also can get homeowners and car insurance with a portion coming back to you!
Came here to say the same thing. My executive membership is payed for just by using my card there, and then some. I also save 50-75 cents per gallon on average compared to other gas stations. I will also be receiving and additional over $300 in store credit at the end of this month. Totally worth it is you plan to use a credit card to make purchases.
