You are down voted because your experience is far from universal. I don't have a winco and have never seen a Walmart gas station lol

Winco is good but that not good. Plus Costco really sines on some of the organic stuff - almost similar prices as Winco non-organic. Generally quality of produce is better at Costco.

People also need to factor in possibly getting 2% back at Executive level and another 2% on Costco Visa card if they have it. Definitely adds up.

These haters acting like it's a deal breaker because Costco isn't 100% the best possible price each and every time.

We bought our car through Costco Auto program a couple years ago. Like other purchases there, was it the absolute rock bottom price we could have found? No. But it was a VERY good price with no extra fuss and runaround. Maybe sometimes similar items will be in sale at another store, but over all, C has great value every day on most things.

Haters gonna hate.

Costco is across the street from Walmart gas here, always same price.

I also don't like Costco and choose not to pay a fee to shop in a crowded warehouse and fight over parking.

Winco and other grocers easily match/beat prices... and I don't get stuck with three months supply of things.

But, I get it... Costco is a cult.. People will defend it like a family member. No shame in that, just not my thing,

I never said Costco makes sense for no one, it does not for us. I keep a spreadsheet of what we buy and a per ounce price, so yeah, I know what I am talking about. I also never said worthless. Most people are not meticulous like me and blindly think that they are getting a good deal on everything at Costco, relative to other sources and well, that just isn't true.

We are also frugal and minimalists.
I apologize if I got the wrong impression from your comments. I am certain you know what you are talking about. But at the end of the day, I am no Costco cult member, I just like to shop there for the products and customer services. I am still 99% certain your math is wrong for majority of the shoppers. If you want to compare local grocery stores specific promotion (BOGO) or sale (2 for $10), then Costco may not have the lowest price. But we can't always expect a promotion/sale at local grocery stores. Costco members don't just buy grocery items at Costco warehouse. If you are telling me retail stores sell items (without promotion/sale) cheaper than the wholesale warehouses, a lot of people need to go back to school to study marketing 101. If you think Walmart sells item cheaper (without a promotion/sale) than Sam's Club, I am pretty sure there will be no market or need of Sam's Club.

I too am going to restock on some of the coupon items that I have been running out of and, I agree, the top tier gas is the best.

Costco = value; people go to Costco for value, not for low price (not always).

I've had a lot of frozen soup dumplings, and the Mila are among the better ones. It's not going to beat going to a restaurant, but it's better than other brands and better than takeout (they don't travel well and have a narrow optimal window for eating after they've been cooked).

I like WinCo but the fact that you have to pay with debit card (and you should NEVER do that) or cash makes it a pain to shop there. And they are just very different from Costco in what they offer (other than some basic foods).

Agreed. I'm a fan of winco. Employee owned and not a part of the Kroger/Albertsons cartels that most of us deal with. With that being said, I agree with you. Produce and meat dept at winco are hit or miss for sure.
