the reason you may want "simple" is if you are using your own

this is the one i own, thankfully. i would not trust anything that is not "hothouse" quality.
pretty much any of these chinese humidifiers that claim to have humidistats,
with lots of LED's and timers and wifi, the humidistat is some random on/off joke.
