You can get the original Japanese version for twice the price. They'll surely be better-made. That said, this is not a terrible price for an occasionally useful tool.

I have a similar tool, except mine are locking pliers (Vice-Grip style) which grip much better.

I have a couple pair of the Engineer branded ones in my basket (original Japanese ones, afaik) I had been considering. Anyone try using these cheaper Workpro ones before and can comment??

Oh, and for comparison here are the similar sized Engineer branded linesman pliers (~$30). Interesting to see how much finer the screw removal notches are vs the Workpro. To be fair though, the Engineer ones seem more like regular linesman pliers with the screw extractor added in towards the side of the jaws. The Workpro seem more specifically modified for screw extracting... just with most the rest of regular linesman pliers still in place as well.

Hmm, when I upgraded the SSD on my laptop, I discovered the M.2 screws were installed with some kind of thread locker glue. I somewhat stripped the screws and tried all kinds of stuff before a flush cutter allowed me to twist them out. I wonder if this tool would have worked.

To play devils advocate it seems the original are offset to allow them to be used as both regular pliers and the screw extractor while these are more of a single purpose tool.
