For the same price, you can get a Lenovo with a 15.6" screen, 16gb Ram , and a 512GB hard drive. Only thing the Asus has better is a higher screen resolution (1920 x 1200) but even that I'm not sure of as it says 1920 x 1080 in the description and then 1920 x 1080 in the specs.
For some reason, it is not letting me post the link - it is Staples item # 24628021
Lenovo V15 G4 IRU 15.6" Laptop, Intel Core i3-1315U, 16GB RAM, 512GB SSD, Windows 11 Home (83A100PBUS) | Staples
I saw that too I didn't post it bc i3, screen, and well it's not very easy on the eyes lol if you can get past that pretty good deal for 16GB ram

Yeah but a worse chip. A lot of people want a smaller laptop than 15.6
For someone not gaming on this, but simply needing something good for helping keep a solid OBS stream setup for storm chasing... Would this get the job done if thats all im really using it for asides basic radars?

If you're adventurous and on or want to test Linux; zram/zswap and swap file could significantly help your performance with vid software, like OBS.

Thanks, I missed the i3 vs. i5 part. I'm not sure if there is any difference in the screen resolution between the 2...the Asus one says 1920 x 1080 in the description but then says 1920 x 1200 in the specs. Someone asked that question in the Q & A on the Staples website and got no answer. So we really don't know what the resolution on the Asus is.

After doing some research, I am pretty sure the Asus one is only 1920 x 1080. The similar model on the Best Buy website is listed as 1920 x 1080 and on the Asus website they list the X1404VA as only having 1920 x 1080. So the screen is going to be the same on both models - only difference is the screen size and the Asus has an i5 vs i3 and the Lenovo has 16GB vs 12GB and a hard drive of 512GB vs. 256GB.

Not sure about that scroll down further on the page to specs click that and says this:
Hard Drive Type: SSD
SSD Capacity: 256GB
Processor Type: Intel Core i5
Installed RAM: 12GB
Screen Resolution: 1920x1200
Battery Life: 7 to 8 hours
Computer Operating System: Windows 11
It also shows Screen Resolution: 1920x1200 in the picture

It diesn't show any resolution in the picture, under highlights it says 1920 x 1200 but then if you look under details the 4th bullet point down says "Compact display with clarity – 14″ Full HD (1920×1080) screen offers crisp visuals in a portable form factor, perfect for working on the go or enjoying entertainment anywhere."
As I said, the Asus wesbite also says the resolution for the X1404VA model is only 1920 x 1080. And the exact same model on the Best Buy wesbite also has it at 1920 x 1080. If I were a betting person, I would say it is is 1920 x 1080.
This laptop looks like it can be easily upgraded later on, right? The Crucial website is showing DDR4-3200 SODIMM and also shows dozens of M.2 SSD for this model. Being so thin I was worried everything would be soldered onto the motherboard.
