These were my favorite sneakers in middle school. They made me feel like I could jump higher than I actually did lol.

I had the OG. If they were to have this OG color model, I would buy for nostalgia. The metallic with black model looks nice but too much at $155.

I remember wearing these as a kid...but prefer air max. Vapor Max is more comfortable. Not a fan of Dn8.

Had a pair of shox as well because they looked cool. I remember them being really heavy and the heel wasn't soft. They're not really sports/running friendly.

Played basketball in these once, landed sideways on the shox and twisted my ankle severely.

Came to the comments to share a similar story.

I wore these for 2 spring training sessions for football in my sophomore year of college. We were indoors on turf. First day I rolled my ankle during basic calisthenics and didn't think much of it. Second day I rolled it again while doing carioca and ended up with a terrible bi-malleolar fracture that needed 3 screws and a metal plate. Prior to this, I had never had a single lower extremity injury in my life. Tossed these shoes right into the trash the next day.

These were pretty great back in the day. Definitely not an activity shoe and I'm really surprised people used these for sports. For running these seem like a nightmare to wear lol.

I remember buying a fake ones for $80 from eBay that was shipped from Philippines. I didn't know about reproductions back then.

Boing, boing, boing. Anyone remember the ads? Remember pre-ordering these, the OG color with red shox, from Eastbay back in day. They definitely looked cooler than they felt. There were several different models. And yes Vince Carter wore the basketball version. Think Jerry Seinfeld still wears these for walking. About the max activity they can handle.

Same thing we all said about Jordans in the 80s with the little air bubble. Of course, job #1 as a middle schooler was to pop someone's bubble when they weren't looking.

Then they could shoot you, rob you, and buy a new pair.

In the 80s, it was all about shooting people over sneakers. And wearing onions on our belts.
