protein bars are so subjective, some people love a flavor, some people hate it. rarely any consensus.

Pure Protein are one of the few protein bars where the main proteins change a lot based on bar. The Cocoa Pebs and Zig Zag cake both have Soy as their main protein. The fruity pebbles has whey and milk.

im going to try one of the fruity pebs

All of these people spout the same parroted garbage about how bad the ingredients are because Dr. Oz or Liver King told them so. Truth is that most of these ingredients are common in protein foods, and they are only bad if you eat them OFTEN and IN EXCESS--the key being "IF YOU EAT TOO MUCH OF THIS YOU WILL HAVE A BAD TIME." That's true for ALL ultra-processed foods, and ALL protein bars are ultra-processed foods. Why are they even eating protein bars if they're so health conscious? Someone who knows SO MUCH about nutrition should be able to derive their protein from a less processed source. Some people just think they're better than others because they only eat the "clean" ultra-processed protein bars that cost $4 per bar and have the same base flavor.

Pure Protein is the GOAT protein bar, they've been around forever, have pretty good flavors, and are affordable. Thanks OP, will try each flavor.

Thanks. The cocoa pebbles are delicious and fruity pebbles are nostalgic.

I can't eat most protein bars because of a cocoa allergy, but I like the pure protein ones. They're good bang for your buck protein bars.
Having said that, several months ago I got the fruity pebbles ones to try them and they were nasty. Very dry and stale and very artificial tasting.
Never again on those.
The lemon flavor are nice if you like that flavor.
I used to like the strawberry ones too, but they seem to have discontinued that flavor for some reason.

Awful ingredients. Most recent review of the cake flavor sums up many reviews:

Flavor Name: Zig Zag Cake
I'm a pretty regular protein bar consumer, so I understand that they aren't always going to have the exact taste of whatever flavor they're trying to emulate and I understand that the texture can be iffy on some of these products. THAT SAID -- the zig zag bars are literally the worst protein bar I've ever eaten, and I've eaten a LOT of different kinds. Sincerely, without exaggation, they taste like vomit. If I had taken a bite of this without knowing what the flavor profile was meant to be, I'd guess they were trying to emulate a vomit flavored Bean Boozled jelly bean. I KID YOU NOT. Don't buy this flavor unless you absolutely hate yourself.

One point because zero isn't an option, because it does at least follow the 1:10 protein to cal ratio that I prefer in a protein bar, and because the texture is at least somewhat normal for a protein bar. Negative EIGHTY TRILLION on flavor."

The zig zags are so bad. Do not buy. I love pure protein and have tried countless varieties. Would never buy these again. Extremely dense and the taste is not good

They've never been posted on here before so it was a bit of a long shot, but I'm glad I did now!

Very shady marketing both on Amazon and Pure Protein's own website https://www.pureprotein.com/produ...g-zag-cake. Neither lists the ingredients in the description. That's probably because they are GARBAGE ingredients and they don't want people to be able to easily copy/paste them so as to make it harder for people to share them. Very deceptive and unusual to hide the ingredients (only showing them in pics). Found the ingredients at Walmart.com's page:
"Ingredients
Protein Blend (Soy Protein Isolate, Whey Protein Concentrate, Whey Protein Isolate, Milk Protein Isolate), Hydrolyzed Collagen, Maltitol Syrup, Glycerine, Fractionated Palm and Palm Kernel Oil, Soy Protein Isolate, Water, Brown Rice Syrup, Milk Protein Isolate, Sugar, Natural Flavor, Canola Oil, Milk Protein Concentrate, Maltitol, Tapioca Starch, Nonfat Milk, Polydextrose, Cocoa, Soy Lecithin, Salt, Calcium Caseinate, Cornstarch, Sucralose, Turmeric (Color), Yogurt Powder (Nonfat Milk, Lactic Acid), Titanium Dioxide (Color), Partially Defatted Peanut Flour, Almond Butter, Tocopherols Added to Protect Flavor."
Also, a whopping 4.5g SATURATED fat (23%) in each puny 1.76oz bar.
Also, the reviews on both Amazon and Pure Protein's own site are mediocre at best. Here's a recent one from pure protein.com:

"1 out of 5 stars.
Chemical Taste

I bought these as I LOVE the other flavors by pure protein. I took one bite and ended spitting it out. It taste like pure chemicals. Do NOT recommend at all. It didn't even need to taste like zig zag cakes, if they took the base of the birthday cake flavor it would of been close already. Huge disappointment."

At a bit more than 1 dollar a bar I like this. I'm probably just gonna try them once anyway
