Based on this review I think the answer is no.

It took this Shark filter 60ish minutes to clean the air while the Winix took 20ish minutes. The Shark carbon filter has less activated carbon than the Winix, thus less effective at removing odors. With the big negative that the carbon filter in the shark is built-in into the HEPA filter. Winix you can change or wash the Carbon filter as it is separate to the other filters.

This Shark only excels in power consumption and yearly maintenance cost. That is if the claims of the filter can really last 5 years.

Have this from Costco and its very easy to maintain. I have dust allergy and I always have it running. Ive noticed a difference. For me who hates keeping up with filter changes this was worth the money.

Owned a.pile of air filtration units over years. It's b.s. there is a large filter inside the unit and there are exterior screens which are predominantly used. the large unit will eventually need teplacing. This is bad advertising for a decent unit. Price is great.

I actually own two air purifiers with permanent filters. When the Clean light comes on I just need to remove the filters, vacuum them and pop them back in. Then they are as good as new until next time.

Which they predict to be 5 years on average. Heavier needs more frequent replacements.

To me never replace its like a maintenance free compressor. It still needs maintenance but it's quite possible that they've you out of those components.

anyone has this one and still using it for at least 6 months? I saw a review that says it breaks after a few months and that his friend received 3 replacements via warranty. All 3 broke within a few months.

Plus that Winix is drop dead sext with that 1980's IBM computer box. Just sit it next to your tv and everyone will think you are so retro stylin, or your wife leaves you for leaving unsightly trash cans around the living room.

Any raiders see a Shredder at first glance? Or is it just me playing Arc too much?
(this seems like a great price though, despite the bad advertising)
