These are not the soft synthetic leather they used to be. I think they cut costs, the latest pair I bought it a stiff plastic shoe, very uncomfortable. They even did cost savings on the laces, I don't have enough length to even tie them properly. Does not fit like the superstars at all. $18 should be the regular price.

is the outsole really rubber? I've been burned by so many of these that end up being foam and melt away within two months of walking in them

I got this exact shoe and color just a week ago. I feel it's comfortable, this is little tight but I loosened the lace so it's ok. It's better to size up a little.

I bought the Hoops 4.0 for about the same price, which look basically the exact same as these, at about the same discount, and they are awful. I wore them once and threw them in a corner. They look oddly made like they are wide around the center of my foot, and they are stiff and uncomfortable.

I literally have these on my feet right now that I received last week. Totally happy for the price, would have been unhappy at $50+. Tight in the toebox, recommend sizing up 1/2 size.
