By that if you wear a large but like and XL you will not get the full effect. You want to wear a t shirt under it or something that will allow for a thermal transfer. If it is really cold you want to wear a jacket over it. You can not wash it but it will need to be dry cleaned. The batteries on last an hour or two so if you work outside you will have to swap out batteries.

As for the battery not lasting, you should pick up this one. Fits flat and isn't uncomfortable like the one the jacket comes with and it lasts 4x as long as the m12 as well. I have one in both my heated hoodie and heated tough shell and would never go back.

Wear this with fleece jacket over it. Good enough for 0 degrees. In the negatives i put something that breaks the wind better over top.
