edit: I attached two pics. One is with local dimming turned off and one is with it turned on. I forget if it was set to low, med or high but regardless you can see how bad the panel is in my set with local dimming turned off. The third photo is with local dimming turned off as well. These sets should always have local dimming turned on since that is what makes these TVs excel. With that said the panel should not look as bad as mine does with it turned off.

To clarify, I do not hate LG or Samsung. My gaming monitor is a 57" Samsung G9, and I freely admit the LG G5 is superior to this, but the 83" G5 is 2x the price and 15" smaller.
If you want the best value, the 8k on sale is the choice
