Upgraded my gtx 1070 to Intel b580, great card, no regrets, plays all my old games flawlessly. Playing all battlefield games as well as battlefield 6. I used to play a lot! But now family takes priority. It's a good budget card.

For gaming purposes, the big issue potential buyers need to be aware of is compatibility.

Since these cards have no hardware support for anything before DX12, they use a translation layer/wrapper for everything outside of DX12 and Vulkan. That means compatibility for older games is imperfect. They have done a lot to improve it, but in my testing I found a decent amount of issues when testing with a B580.

Also, the vast majority of people can ignore this part, but if you happen to be a Linux gamer, be aware that gaming performance/compatibility on Linux is quite bad.

This is a good price. If your use is case is gaming though, I have to wonder if it wouldn't be better to buy used. For example, an RTX 3060 12GB would have roughly the same performance, have more VRAM, have full x16 connection and be compatible with more games. On the other hand, it would be several years older so there are trade-offs.

Can you find a 3060 for $200? Abused card and no warranty maybe.

Probably a better buy than an RTX 5060 at $300

Not to mention those are gimped 8GB versions. I would go for this if I were looking for a budget card and it wouldn't hurt to send some GPU business Intel's way. It will only be to gamers' benefit if they become a significant player in this market.

You could a few weeks ago. Have the 3060 prices jumped up since then?
It is a truly broken market when an entry level card from 4 years ago is increasing in price. sigh

I managed to snag a 3060 12GB on Newegg as a refurb for $209. Intel wasn't an option for me as my PC doesn't support rebar.

These are going to be the new video cards of the people now that NVidia is abandoning the people that made them who they are.

I would hold out for the B580 for $50 more if you can find one in stock. Extra memory alone is worth it.

But the intel cards have been getting better. Just need to stay on top of driver updates.

As an owner of a B580, this is a valid point. I've not dug into it, but I have certainly found some older games that have had issues. Oh, and newer as well like Starfield.

That said, overall it's been a solid 1440 card and newer games run great. But yeah, spend the extra for the 580 vs 570 for the RAM increase.
