I see a lot of complaints about them not using true HEPA filters as they advertise. Most people seem to recommend Coway or Winix.

I have the Filter on a 6-month order cycle....filter still in good shape but I still replace it. Of course we have no pets, don't smoke, etc....

I would go Winix better than this model and Cheaper filters is a plus.

Not sure.. my c545 are all at the 2+ yr mark and are starting to sound louder and louder. I always kept up with filter changes, etc. looking online, it seems to be a common issue with winix

Have you looked at trying to fix the noise? There's videos on YouTube on how to fix many sounds on the winix. The sound just becomes part of the house I suppose. But it does get loud.
