You were spoiled by 2006 PC specs too if you compared them to PCs from 1996.
You're not wrong. I think it's just been an exponential spec bump now compared to then. These are PCs that could legitimately stay relevant/fast for 10-15 years.

Isn't Lenovo yoga prone to display issues especially with the foldable models
I had problems out of the box with a flickering display. A full round of driver updates fixed it.

Got this laptop when it was posted in earlier deal which was about $20 cheaper. It was a good condition open box, the laptop showed it was originally powered up just a single day in December 2025 and basically looked new, the adapter wasn't even unwrapped.
As for the machine, its got a nice build quality and the screen is fantastic compared to my old 3 year old Dell that had a 250 NITs screen and horrible viewing angles. Only negative is RAM isn't upgradable but 16GB should suffice for daily use and can use my MBP for photo editing.
Yeah for $450, 16gb is completely alright and it has an oled too which is great. I bought one for my parents a month ago for $500 new and the oled screen is beautiful. I have a qhd legion yet I find watching movies on this better.

How is the build quality on these? I had two bargain Lenovos literally fall apart at the hinges years ago and swore them off, but I have no experience with this line.
My Yoga got a hinge issue that affected the screen cable and caused a dead screen after two years

I bought the 16" model back in December, $296 for excellent open box. Has been a great laptop for the price.

Similar, one hinge on mine (13th gen Intel) became detached from the back lid. It still kind of worked but if I continued using it the screen would have cracked shortly.

Apparently there's no good way to fix it - epoxy will eventually fail again, and the only permanent fix involves riveting the hinge and the back lid together.

Hella nice looking screen though.

the screen on this is fantastic. OLED is miles better than LCD

I had the same issue when streaming shows and the driver updates fixed it for me as well. Glad I didn't have to return it.
