Kingroon often has deals for 10 kg PETG for about $62.
Yes but you have to dry PETG first
I'm yet to need to dry a spool, but guess it's only a matter of time.
For what it's worth, I store it in an air tight bin.
Hint: yes, it's compatible, just like any and all 1.75mm filaments that are of a type (PLA, PETG, etc) the A1 can extrude at temp.

You have to forcibly heat the moisture out of it. It just how filament moisture and drying works man. You've probably just gotten lucky. I dont even chance it - all my filaments go into the dryer for the full cycle then into a 20qt Sterilite with a big sack of activated alumina and a hygrometer (and some extra clips for the sides).
One of the easiest ways to spot a likely wet roll before you even try to print with it — if the plastic wrap around it isnt fully vac'd into the spool hole, there's a pretty good chance that it was compromised at some point and is now wet.
General rule of thumb in 3D printing is to always assume a new spool is wet.
