Thanks for the info, is it the "Max" version as well? I think they use the liquid metal mix in the 5080/5090 versions, I can be completely wrong though
Yeah the Intel / 5080 I believe has the self cleaning fans as well

Good deal. But at close to $2K, I am going to wait for next Black Friday deals so I can grab the 5080 - 5090 GPU desktop version for less when it is over a year old. My Alienware i5 CPU with 3060Ti is still rocking.

There was only "Good" or "Excellent" near me.

I got the Good and it looks brand spanking new on the computer, the charger brick has minor scuffs. The guy told me sometimes they mark the condition based on the OUTSIDE box and it wasn't in a great shape. It should have been fair then I said. Hah.

The "Fair" one was too far, I would have tried that one to save $200 from excellent.

Damn Windows has so much commercial and bloatware and.... I hate I have to wait for updates to download on the first reboot. LOL.

Once thing I noticed, it seems to not want to boot up quickly when I didn't have the charger on, will check if it's battery that w as just drained when I can actually see the battery (After update and login).

Got 14 days bestbuy return period to beat the hell out of this thing to make sure it has no real issues.

HEAVY. my god this thing is bigger and heaver than 16" MacBook Pro
5.9 lbs vs. 4'7. holy smoke I felt the heft when I took it out of the box.

The brick is humongous - 340W? damn.

How damn I can run GSS-20B model and get 75.11 tok/sec That's actually usable for decent local AI work.

Anyone got an experience with one of these? There are numerous reports online of these units self bricking. People blame the crappy liquid metal mix that HP uses that seeps into the mainboard but those that replaced the TIM still had their unite die. So I don't know
I have the 5080 Ryzen variant. The first one I bought bricked immediately once enabled PBO in the HP app and ran 3DMark. That being said it was an open box and one screw misaligned on the case. Figured it was returned after they tried to replace the main Nvme drive, but you need to take off the entire cooling system to get to it. Second unit has been working perfect and have had it since mid November. Have done a bios update on it and upgraded the ram to 64gb before prices went insane.

bought this before as an open box from best buy, seemed like great performance and build quality, but the screen died about a week after purchase
