Why can a Qi2-certified charger be incompatible with an Android phone like the Pixel 10, even though both are Qi2-certified? Who is at fault: Anker, Google, or the Qi2 standard itself?

I tried the Anker Zolo (looks similar to this) with my P10P and it would stop charging overnight and have to be unplugged to work again. Another friend didn't have this problem with their P10P.
I have the same problem with other Qi2 chargers, so I think it's a Google problem and hopefully they fix the phone firmware.

Thanks for sharing your experience. I asked Gemini and it said that Pixel 10 is Qi2.2 certified but this Anker is Qi2.0 certified. When handshaking, they fall back to 5w charging. We need a Qi2.2 charger, even if the phone is capped at 15w.

I wonder if the official charger from Google has issues. I'm on the fence since my old Pixel stand no longer works. The stand was convenient but I'm not sold on finding a replacement, yet.

I really only want 5w charging over night so it controls or keeps the phone from heating.

I've had a really poor experience with ostensibly Qi2 / Qi2.2 chargers and Pixel 10 Pro. I've tried about 5 of those (Belkin / Baseus / Anker) and of all of those only 2 gave me more or less reasonable charge speeds (Anker MagSafe Charger Pad and Anker MagSafe Compatible MagGo Charger Stand), others resulted in multiple hours to charge battery by 25%. To add insult to injury, s25 Galaxy Ultra charges amazingly fast on pretty much any old wireless charger I had around.
I suspect the "Google" thing happened - they designed Pixel 10 to be perfect in its handling of top-of-the-line wireless charging standard without caring about real life cases where you try to charge using Qi 1 or not 100% perfectly implemented Qi2 chargers.

I understand the question but in today's world I try and do everything in my power to not use the CC mag strip and I have actually thought about intentionally destroying the ones on my daily cards and just have a single card with one as backup.

This is probably an issue with the power adapter used, and not the Qi2 standard. I have a Pixel 8 Pro with a magnetic case, and have never ran into any issues with any wireless chargers, Qi2 or not.

Beware 15W is very weak these days, it will take hours to charge a modern phone.
If you charge at night, it's fine. I can charge my 16 Pro while asleep, with a 5w, and wake it to a full battery.
