80+50+20=150% off?! 100% off would make the item free so 150% off doesn't seem to make much sense.
Not how % math works

As someone who works in education, can confirm this is what the future looks like...You take each percentage at a time. IE: 80% off $100 is $20. Then 50% off $20 is $10. Then 20% off $10 is $8.

Understood, thanks for explaining but then why not just state the whole percentage as one figure then? Seems to be far less confusing that way. If original price is $100 and sale price is $8, such as in your example, the sale would be 92% off. Much simpler to say 92% off $100 than applying 3 different percentage discounts to 3 different prices.
Upto 80% off means that is the max. The 50% off is done in cart. The 20% off is done via a coupon code.

These details are all in the description at the top of this post.

It's for the "BIG NUMBERS" effect for people who don't understand percentages.

This is already the past, the guy probably "learned" basic math 1-2 decades ago.

Yes, surprise, uneducated people have always existed.

Their point is that they are an educator and see that most of these kids can't figure this out now.

But you're also part of the group so I understand you not being able to understand that. Go get em tiger!

Example:
$50 Regular Price
$10 after 80% off
$5 after 50% off
$4 after the last 20% off

Final price 92% off. Yeah, right...

Would love to see some examples of actual deals people get instead of just dumping overpriced categories, where they price 1 sock for $13 or a hoodie at $108 before they applied "20% off limited time"
Do you actually get the $108 hoodie for $9? I really doubt that, that's where the "Up To 80%" comes from. Most of these don't get anywhere near the initial 80% off.
Unless I am making a mistake somewhere the $108 hoodie "Extra Heavyweight French Terry Zip Hoodie" shows $68.80 in cart after ADDIT. Even if you can get another 20% off that's $55.

1 Promo Applied — $17.20
