Depends on what type of hole you're trying to lubricate and the type of operating motion.
The astroglide lubrication fluid in question is designed to facilitate low to medium friction oscillation at ambient body temperature while this silicone lubricant is designed to achieve lubrication at a much higher temperature without thermal breakdown.
The operating motion is also important to keep in mind due to shear forces, are we dealing with high speed rotation or low speed reciprocation?
Because one is designed for heavy loads (silicone lubricant) while the other (astro) is designed to deliver loads.

Is this stuff any better than WD-40 at temporarily defogging car headlight lenses? As per YouTube, I tried using WD-40 on my headlight lenses but it simply doesn't last very long. I know that this is the lazy man's solution but that description fits me to a tee.

Way worse. WD-40 is mostly solvent and spirits (cleaner) with a tiny bit of petroleum based oil, which is what causes it to in some cases work ok as a lubrication spray or surface coating. If you want something that works longer on your headlights just get a regular restoration kit (project farm has some good recommendations) they arent expensive and tend to last at least a year if you do them correctly.
These are good, I always stock them. Very useful in keeping the tools rust free, garage door slides, vinyl windows, windshield wipers or to quiet any squeaky components.
