I'm not endorsing or defending it, but this thing makes crystal clear ice cubes, not normal cloudy cubes. The design allows water to freeze from the top downward, forcing air out of the bottom as it freezes. To do this It's insulated, which is what makes it so bulky.

Incorrect. I've owned one of these for a year now. This makes crystal clear ice balls unlike the device you suggested. It's no money grab, it's a legitimately great item and I would suggest reserving judgement until you try it for yourself.

That's not even the same thing. Those are regular ice cubes, not clear.

This is the one time I have to comment. The stupid tovolo is junk, I can only speak for my experience but please if you love something not from the OP do us a favor and start your own post (OP get it) and look for likes. I would love a clear ice cube and if THIS OPs post is it, then I am very tempted to buy it even at retail.

Can someone here report back heck quote my post if you would, and tell us this works?

2.5"? That's for a small glass, not bad, just small, it could work in my Glencairn glasses. I have the one they compare to, and they are almost 4", like in the bartender picture. False advertising.

I completely agree. But the only reason you would need this is for advertising- still or video. Does anyone else really care if their ice is airless?

That's a good sized Glencairn. The openings are usually under 2 inches.

But yeah, for a normal glass you'll want a bigger size.

I love the ones in the original post so much, I bought 2 more today. They are very compact, easily stack if needed, and the ice balls are almost glass like. 10/10 from me

Agree! Have been using Tovolo for 5 years+. This makes clear ice unlike Tovolo.

I had to play around to find the exact time when the ice in the mold was frozen but the water at the bottom was liquid/semi-frozen. It depends on individual refrigerators/freezers. For me it was the 26 hour mark in a samsung Vs 24 in a freezer.

P.S. Clear ice does taste better and melts slowly. Tovolo in a 64 Oz bottle melts in 1 hour Vs Clear ice stays solid for 5+ hours
