I recently got one of these, first time used it to charge a flashlight. Not sure if the cable had anything to do with it, but that flashlight quickly got way hotter than I've ever felt any of my torches heat from charging. Switched back to a different cable and did not have the issue. That has me hesitant to charge my phone or other devices, I'll probably eventually try with close monitoring.

Curious to know if it was with the C -> A adapter on? I had similar trouble with a device with that in place. Seemed like it didn't seat well and eventually the retaining cord broke and I lost the USB A plug entirely.

I'd bet my 401K if downvoting wasn't anonymous on this site the amount of them would be half or less.

How is it "fake?" 9000 reviews seem to disagree with you.

And no surprise it is a "terrible speed." It isn't billed as a data cable nor do most people get 10' long data cables either....when they do, it ain't $5 with adapters.

P.S. Water is wet and the dinosaurs are gone. Just in case you needed help with any of that old newz Wink

It was not with the USB A adapter. I'm thinking it might actually be something with how my Sofirn headlamp is charging. Maybe it isn't regulated and taking more power than it should? I have a USB power measurement device that I'll use later to compare volts & watts using A vs. C charging.

haha I bet you're right...perfect descrption ..sad sacks. In my view it's just common courtesy and also to help other users understand why a listing is or is not a good deal
