Keep in mind, visiting an HEB in the coming days (at least by me in central Texas) is going to be a major pain in the butt considering the upcoming weather.

True. Fortunately they can be largely offset by credit card cashback as HEB is squarely in the Grocery category.

FYI these Vanilla gift cards are almost impossible to use at any place that allows you to tip (restaurants, other services like salons, massage, etc)

There's definitely Vanilla $100's for $6.95, ignore the original post that says it's $7.95.

Thank you for the find. I was not able to find Vanilla Visa $100 card with $6.95 fee at my local store last November and also yesterday. All Vanilla Visa $100 cards I saw have $7.95 fee on them. Thank you for letting us know that $6.95-fee Vanilla Visa cards are still in some stores!

It doesn't sounds like this card will be useful in the short term, because according to reddit, all the HEBs have been cleaned out because of the weather panic.

I buy these most of the time when HEB runs this promo -- including yesterday. Just be aware these are a PITA to redeem -- they don't allow you to register your card with your address -- many online vendors will not accept (I try to use these for monthly bills -- electric, gas, cell, insurance). You may have to try a few sites -- another option is to take the prepaid card and buy a traditional gc -- ie. Amazon.

Other prepaid cards can be registered and are easier to use.

Thanks! I'll go buy some on Monday afternoon after the freeze shit show ends and the shelves have been restocked!

Discover is now 5% cashback on grocery stores. Hopefully buying these gift cards will apply also
