It's flabberghasting to me that Weber's cheapest line of grills now sells for 750 bucks when not on sale.

I got one of these, too. Note that the griddle insert is not the one that covers the full surface, but it's plenty big ($100 MSRP). The included frame kit is $50 MSRP, so you're getting $150 in extras while paying $80 less.

Biggest differences between this and other 425 models (e.g., EP-425, S-425) are that it lacks the 4 caster wheels (only 2 wheel; E-425C is the same thing but w/casters), the digital thermometer, and stainless steel finishes.

Man I'd love to get this unfortunately I need a side burner. I've been trying to get a Weber grill on a good sale for a long time. I've been roughing it up with one of those cheap Home Depot grills for a while and the "guts" of the grill is awful. I even had to replace the grill grates as they were breaking.

Interesting difference on wheels. I saw there is a Smart thermometer version but thinking why wouldnt I just use my remote thermometer.

Definitely use the insert griddle rather then lug out my lodge cast iron griddle. Even if for onions and veggies. Pretty pumped up for addon.

I prefer the two wheel like this one. Had the caster wheels before and they break off easily

I was once told that HD sold Webers and Weber burners/grills are not the same. Less quality or something. True or False?

I prefer the 2 wheel version - the 4 wheel/caster version would be ok if you had a smooth surface to roll it on.

Honestly Weber is no longer worth the price tag. I bought mine 3 years ago and it's a POS for $500. Can't even properly sear a steak on it.

Amazing that any $600 grill doesn't have a side burner on it. So pay $600 for a grill with less features that might last 5 years, or any other brand $300 grill with features, storage, four wheels, and a side burner that will last 3-4 years.

No brainer to pass on this. A gas grill is a gas grill, no matter the name plate you put on it.

Weber is for the hat and no cattle travel ball crowd who can throw it in the back of the minivan to hang with the Chads for a weekend under the portable tent.

While the Spirit is not the same as a Genesis I wouldn't call this a grill that lasts 3-4 years. Besides if anything does go bad it has a 10 year warranty and Weber will send you a replacement part. I'm glad I was able to get the Genesis from Wayfair for under $500. It is the best Propane grill I have ever owned.

Past grills that I have owned by Char-Broil took forever to get the side burner to heat up. I mostly never used it because it sucked.

Do you have a Spirit or Genesis? I don't have any issues with the Genesis.

Maybe it isn't as good but I can tell you the Genesis is the best grill I have owned.

My current Weber is the stainless steel Genesis model; had it for 12+ years and still in great shape. Not sure about these newer models.
