Remeber the 80's, when a guy could stand in the river during summer, and fish wearing Teva sandals that actually had real soles made from real tread with real lug patterns so you wouldn't slip and fall? I do. Cant do that with todays Tevas with zero tread soles. If teva went back to thick, sturdy healthy lug soles I would still purchase them.

Nice! I've had these sitting in my REI cart for months & cringing at paying $80.

Yeah, these will work for the beach but honestly might be a little overkill if you're just going to lounge. They are a little more rugged, think walking on trails, camping, adventure trips to like costa rica etc

For *just* the beach the plain original/universal will work fine too, those are lighter weight, more like a flip flop with straps

I've had these for a number of years and use them for something quick to put on when I go for sunny walks daily.

I wear mine on the beach. But they seem to hold sand forever. Make sure if you're throwing them in a backpack or something you put them into a separate closed bag. You'll be knocking sand out of them for a while.

Look, I really love my Tevas but I also really miss the days when they went on clearance for $15.

These are my favorite of all time. Make sure you do not leave it out in the sun as it will shrink.
