Wow. I clearly buy my tools at the wrong time. I need to start waiting until they clearance out. I think I got this for maybe $130 on a sale when it first came out and I like it well enough. I use mine with an edger attachment and I have a corner lot, so a lot of edging every week with it. It will overheat your batteries if you use on speed 2, but on speed 1 the only time I had an issue with it was when it was blazing hot and I was using the ultimate output 4ah battery with it. Never had an issue with any of the extended run blue batteries.

Obviously well worth it at this price.

So.. got the 24v lawn mower and missed the 40v one this morning so I guess I'm sticking with 24v.

Can anyone tell me (first time homebuyer, know nothing about lawn care LOL), what the difference between this split shaft trimmer and the straight shaft one that is included in this bundle for only $20 more (which includes a leaf blower)?

Ive been looking for a deal on just their powerhead so I could use some old attachments for hedging and whatever that I rarely use but this is even better Big Grin The 40v one is sold out by me but the 24v one is still available.

Thanks!

It looks to be a dedicated trimmer meaning you can't put any attachments on to it. Probably other things as well but I have a hedger attachment like this that (https://www.lowes.com/pd/TrimmerP...nt/3701730) I can use to get taller bushes and not have to bust out a ladder Big Grin

Not everyone has universal attachments. I'm mostly in the Ego system but have a bunch of attachments I rarely use (hedger, edger, tiller) that I rarely use so I just wanted something cheap that would let me use them here and there and this should work.

It comes down to what you want. If you don't want any of that and just want a basic trimmer and blower the link you posted looks like a decent deal. The blower probably won't be very powerful though but if it's just light stuff here/there you may be happy with it.

The split shaft takes multiple attachments like edger, rototiller and so on. Very useful.

Lower half of the split shaft can be removed and replaced with other tools

I think with split shaft you can change attachments, but not with straight shaft.

Good to know. Thanks everyone! I like the idea of picking up a hedger attachment, so this is useful. I wound up buying both (bought the standalone trimmer before seeing the combo on sale), so I'll probably keep both and try to flip the straight shaft one on FB Marketplace.
