Ideally a 12GB VRAM like the 5070ti should have been standard on these mobile cards starting with the 5060 and up imo. The memory upgrade for this laptop to 32GB should run about $150 in the current economy, while a 5070ti upgrade runs about $400 for the next model up. Quick research shows it has 2 slots and the 16gb should be a single stick.
The 5060 deal might be the better choice for many as its $300 cheaper, has a 8gb 5060, 16gb like this one but only a 512gb nvme.
Hoping that this will let me game well before the prices start rocketing up before the AI Boom maxes and crashes hard.

Now take note I say "October", so after purchasing the laptop I bought another 16gb stick of ram and 1tb SSD for $50 each, lol. You won't ever see those prices again so just be careful. If the site has some upgrade options I would shell out for the 32. You'll have severe buyers remorse otherwise.

But seriously I believe there was a deal for another Lenovo, same specs, 5060 with 32gb of ram for around $900. The 5060 and 5070 mobile GPUs bench very similarly, and they both have the same vram as well. Might be better to look into that.

It's a fully upgradeable gaming laptop. I'm less upset about default ram configurations in a laptop where the ram isn't soldered. Like sure would always rather have more for the same price, but this uses a single 16 GB stick, and it's super easy to work on, so pop 8 screws, add a stick and go.
Also has room for a second NVME.
