TP Link's Tapo P110M is a Matter enabled Wi Fi mini plug that stands out for energy monitoring and local control, especially in Home Assistant. The plugs are described as easy to pair, reliable, and useful for schedules, notifications, and simple on off control for things like Christmas lights or a washer. Energy data can work over Matter after a firmware update, though the Tapo app may be needed for setup and some platforms like Apple Home may only show basic control. The main drawback is price, since similar four packs and cheaper non monitoring plugs are cited as better value.

Cool! How do you manage it? Does everything show up in one single interface, or do you have 10 different apps to manage 10 different iOT things? Does it all show up in Apple Home flawlessly, or do you need to use different apps for every different device?

How much of it hasn't had a password change since God knows when? Is it on an iOT network, or do you just trust all of these different companies to sit on your home network (often with sensitive data like your comings and goings, your purchase history, your camera / video recordings, and more) fully accessible?

When's the latest firmware update they've had to reduce vulnerabilities?

When you say you haven't had any difficulties, what exactly does that mean? That you set it up once then forgot about it? Etc etc... it's all in what you care about. If just plugging it in and getting it working with Alexa is your sole criteria, and then referring to the Alexa app a few times a year to remind yourself what devices have what features, that might be all that you care about.
They show on my google home app flawlessly. Havent had identity stolen or credit card fraud. Passkeys and multifactor logins are great btw. I have not had difficulties in terms of achieving what I want them to do. Mostly following schedule and voice command.

Any other questions? You almost sound offended that I am satisfied with my 0 IT pro setup.

Smilie Glad it's working for you, seriously. I look forward to matter and having one interface to manage them all.

So far that has been my experience with Kasa products - install it 'n forget it. I have Kasa light switch and plugs throughout the house.
Single vendor makes it cool, easier, simpler. Matter is targeted for those who have lots of different IOT things from lots of different vendors : the hope is it will make management and control of all of that much easier.

My devices are Kasa and tp-link and I manage them all in the Tapo app and I share them with Amazon so Alexa can control them. And yeah basically set up and forget. Sometimes someone will tell me a plug isn't following its schedule so I open the app and fix it. I have 31 devices not including the cameras. Cameras record to SD cards. My devices have their firmware updated. Regarding vulnerabilities, we all know the S in IoT stands for security, and hopefully we don't have any illusions about Chinese hackers not seeing our lighting routines. Don't they have backdoors into our routers anyway?

If you've standardized on just one app, and that has all the hardware that you need, then you're fortunate indeed. I've got devices from all kinds of makes, so it's annoying to manage apps, passwords, and protocols that way. For that, I've used Scrypted and HomeBridge, but it's still very annoying.

That's the problem that, I hope, Matter and a more unified front end interface can solve.
I see your sarcasm, but it's far more than lighting routines they have access to.
