Final Cost After Promo Code and Cash Back $15.74 - YMMV
Click the "Redeem" Button next to "Save $3 promo code: 3P110M2PK" to bring the checkout price to $20.99 then use your Amazon Prime Visa Card, Prime Store Card or Prime Secured Card to pay and get 25% back which brings your final cost down to $15.74 (excluding tax)
To confirm the 25% at checkout, click the dropdown "Additional reward details" and confirm that it says
"Prime Card Bonus Offer: Get 5% back, and additional 20% rewards on the amount charged to this card"

Matter will give (in some hypothetical future that is certain to be here any day now...) vastly simpler management of all of these IoT gizmos. Right now, unless you've a pretty significant IT background or are really patient, managing all of these devices once you get 10, 20, 30 of them becomes a bit more difficult.

The 4-pack is $34 so $17 for 2 which is better than this deal (not counting the cashback which most people can't use).

I don't know about Tapo but I bought some Tp-Link Kasa smart plugs and it turns out although it supports Matter, you will only be able to see the energy reading in their proprietary phone app which defeats the purpose of my purchase.

Those are not energy monitoring, though, which these are.

Funny I researched the same thing just a bit ago and found that only the basic on/off functionality is available in, say, Apple Home, and that you still need to use the devices native app to get to the energy reading information. I actually use the energy monitoring plugs just to monitor the energy used -- rarely do I turn off/on the devices connected to them.

My purpose for these is to turn on and off Christmas lights... energy monitoring is secondary.

You can get cheaper ones without energy monitoring.

I have 0 IT background and have 20+ IoT around my house. Havent ran into any difficulty yet.

Matter is cool in theory but it is still kind of a mess is what I read everywhere. I personally wouldnt pay extra $ for some theoretical benefit in the future that may or may not materialize.

Cool! How do you manage it? Does everything show up in one single interface, or do you have 10 different apps to manage 10 different iOT things? Does it all show up in Apple Home flawlessly, or do you need to use different apps for every different device?

How much of it hasn't had a password change since God knows when? Is it on an iOT network, or do you just trust all of these different companies to sit on your home network (often with sensitive data like your comings and goings, your purchase history, your camera / video recordings, and more) fully accessible?

When's the latest firmware update they've had to reduce vulnerabilities?

When you say you haven't had any difficulties, what exactly does that mean? That you set it up once then forgot about it? Etc etc... it's all in what you care about. If just plugging it in and getting it working with Alexa is your sole criteria, and then referring to the Alexa app a few times a year to remind yourself what devices have what features, that might be all that you care about.
