I bought this stuff a few years ago. It worked on my steps, but eventually got too wet outside and peeled up. It lasted about a year. If the stairs are covered, you'll probably be okay.

It is! Only 34¢ more which comes out to $0.17/feet vs. $0.23/feet for the 35'.

FWIW it doesn't look like the 50' version comes with the roller. Tho the 35' version doesn't explicitly say it does either, the listing has it in the pictures.

That picture of the guy breaking his back falling down the stairs while his wife is doomscrolling social media on her phone is 2026 in a nutshell.

Sure, that will be ok for a few strips, but this stuff is basically 80 grit sandpaper, so it's going to sand off your skin after a while. I'm speaking from personal experience as I used a similar tread tape without a roller for a ramp I made, and I'm choosing to get the one that comes with a roller this time to save my skin and, hopefully, also get a more even adhesion of the tape. If you're ok with standing up from kneeling for every strip to step on it, or wear gloves to push on it every couple inches, then go for what's best for you.

According to Rufus, yes.

"Yes, the Trazon Grip Tape is specifically designed for outdoor use. It's waterproof and built to withstand heavy foot traffic and all weather conditions, including rain, snow, frost, sun, water, and heat.
Customers confirm it works well outdoors on decks, stairs, patios, ramps, and even boats. One customer mentioned it's been on their plastic deck for a year with direct sunlight 4-5 hours daily through hot summers and cold winters with no signs of loosening."

You should google this invention called "shoes". You put them on your feet and they allow you to step on things without exposing your skin to said things. jfc

Your interpretation that she is 'doomscrolling' says more about you, than anything about 2026. Why can't she be calling for an ambulance? That's because you associate a phone with doomscrolling more than it's primary purpose.
Fair point. I guess she could have been live tweeting instead of doomscrolling.

As I mentioned in my post, if you like standing up from kneeling after laying down a strip to step on it, then go for it. I'm just laying out the differences in two product options and highlighting that one option has more tape while the other includes a tool that could be useful to some people. If you have your preference decided, then good for you. Other people might not share your preference. Jfc.
