This is honestly the best robot vacuum I've used on carpet, period. It's not smart at all..no lidar, and it really needs the light on to work right in low light environments but the cleaning power is great for carpet. It pulled way more dirt and hair out of my carpet than my Roborock ever did. I pretty much only use it on carpet now because that's where it actually performs, but it's definitely not an all in one solution for all floors. Dyson's discontinuing this model anyway and partnering with a big robot vacuum company for the next version, which looks more like the typical stuff out there..I hear it's not as good in a lot of ways, such as on carpets. For $280 though, if your main goal is just cleaning carpet that normal robot vacuums struggle with, it's worth it. Oh, I wouldn't expect this to get any major software updates in the future either. Come to think of it, I'm not even sure about parts..we'll see.

One big win imo is that this uses a re-usable HEPA filter, which you can easily wash in your sink. No need to purchase replacement filters for the dustin bin and what not. That's awesome in my experience.

If you understand where this vacuum excels and where it falls short—and those trade-offs make sense for your needs—then it's worth the current price.

If you have pets and want a robovac with suction power closer to a decent traditional vacuum, especially for carpets, this unit is a strong choice for daytime use. While many models now offer impressive features, at its core—cleaning performance—this is among the best, particularly since the firmware updates.

I also appreciate the long-term value. Because it doesn't use a self-empty dock, there's no need to buy disposable bags. The filter is washable, the brush head feels durable, and with regular use it should pay for itself over time. Add in Dyson's build quality, and it comes across as a solid, reliable machine.

Does anyone know how this compares to neato now (since the block of accessing the neato app) ?

Check on video reviews for this thing before you order, just because it's made by dyson doesn't mean it's the best.

Check out JustADad's latest video on it on YouTube - it'll help show what I am trying to explain. The amount this can pull out of carpets is night and day compared to any other robot vacuum - I have a Roborock S7 MaxV Ultra and EcoVacs T20 Omni that can't compete. Everything else you said is truth though. Dyson couldn't justify their asking price on this when it came out.
Completely agree with you. It's the best robot vac for carpet out there. Nothing compares to it. It's basically a V11 mounted on a robot vacuum with automatic boost mode. I'll forgive the lackluster app and lack of lidar navigation. Once you get it mapped, it's good to go for the most part. They've really improved the firmware from when it first shipped even changing the cleaning pattern.

I like your description of this being a V11 mounted on a robot vacuum - that is the perfect description..spot on. I've had it for 2 months so far and am impressed for what it is (I paid $375 though and not MSRP). Software wise, it's been solid here. I'd recommend anyone who purchases this have it do its initial mapping during the day when the area is well lit all around, otherwise the mapping will be off and set forth a pretty poor experience.

This ALL day over this Dyson. Compared to the Dyson 360, the Dreame L10s Ultra is my pick by far. The suction power alone (5300Pa) feels like a real next-level clean versus the Dyson's more mediocre output, and the auto mop system with self-cleaning and drying actually keeps floors fresh without constant attention. The self-emptying, self-refilling base that lasts up to 60 days is a game of convenience Dyson just doesn't match, and the AI navigation feels more confident and consistent around furniture and tight spaces. Add Alexa control and quieter, smarter day-to-day performance, and the Dreame just checks more boxes for real, hands-off home maintenance.

This ALL day over this Dyson..

Yes, almost any (modern) robo vacuum in this general price range over this one.

I'm not sure if most of the people glowing about this in these threads are the boomer crowd or just still easily fooled by the age old trick of MSRP being misleadingly placed sky-high and then when things are more back to Earth, it's magically a great deal (without being a great deal based on other merits). Roll Eyes (Sarcastic)

This vacuum has old tech. It's been forgotten by the manufacturer. It's been forgotten by modern advances in robotic vacuum tech. It doesn't even empty itself (kind of one of the main perks of having a robo vac to begin with).

Either get a decent upright you control yourself or a modern robo vac. This (still high priced) dino isn't it.

Woot will dump this deal on the Slickdealer that is too lazy to read the comments.

Huh...didn't know Dyson even made a robo vac lol. Plenty of other robo vacs that'll do just as well for much cheaper.

At this price point, opt for the Dreame L40 Ultra. It'll vac and mop with plenty of bells and whistles.
