SMH. This isn't true, and is one of the biggest myths that still exist.
This TV is several years old, and this is the lowest it has been. EVER.
It's not getting any lower next week just because of your mythical "Super Bowl sales" you believe it.
This is it. Buy now. Don't wait.

I have this TV and it's definitely top tier. I'm really proud of my purchase. Go ahead and get it for this price. It's a steal!

Brighter rooms (sun lit) get Full Array
Dimmer rooms get OLED
It depends more on the screen coating. My X90J (older version of this) has a very reflective coating and is terrible in a bright room.

Great TV! I kinda like this over LG B2 OLED I have. (Not to offend OLED fans)

How does this compare to OLED?
Colors are more vibrant in OLED but this is more natural/realistic.

The glossier the screen...the better the picture quality.

Sony and Samsimg were price gouging during BF sales... and sony will now liquidate because they are selling out to tcl?? Gtfoh... boycott...most who saw this price gouging bought a tcl or hisense anyway if they had any sense....
RIP sony. Didn't know about the sony/tcl thing. I guess it couldn't fight off the tcl and hisenses of the world any longer. People only care about staring at their 5 inch phone screens these days instead of enjoying a high quality large screen TV. Deadthread

How long will the built-in apps stay supported because this is the only way to get interpolation enabled for streaming content unless using a dvd player.

I know it's different price brackets but for gaming and movies...is the lg g5 worth the extra money or is this good enough to save the extra $1k?

Why do they waste a 120hz HDMI port for earc?
I have a 120HZ 4k reciever, so I run everything through that and only connect to my TV through the EARC port (so I can also get sound back when using the TV smart features).

If a TV is only 60hz on its EARC port, it would be a deal breaker for me.

Sure, it is a downside for people who only have an audio out soundbar--but from what was a super high end TV at its release, I can see them catering more towards those with a full setup vs a soundbar.

Fantastic TV. I paid way more then this and have zero regrets. Xbox x looks like a dream on it and runs smooth as butter. I just bought a new tcl qm6k pro for my son from Costco. This 3 year old Sony is still better.

I came close to buying this but ended up going with the crazy x93l deal a couple years ago. But the x90l is still a great buy at this price
