For $1.90 more, you can buy the higher performing Arctic MX-7 from Amazon: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0FT2XSPSN

Just be sure to click on the more sellers option and select the one sold by ARCTIC Inc directly. The extra $0.01 is worth the peace of mind over the other random sellers.

Both are non-conductive, so there's no concern of damaging the motherboard if you're new to this. Look at a VERY detailed comparison here to see the difference: https://www.igorslab.de/en/therma...%5B%5D=153

Just a reminder to replace your thermal paste every 2 to 5 years for optimal performance.

Let's hope the price doesn't skyrocket like RAM.

The thread really should attract all the people with multiple lifetime supplies having received various tubes of thermal paste through Newegg motherboard bundles.

Good luck!

This is the usual price and the list price, no one looks at that. It isn't a real price. How is this FP? Unless....paid placement. Even simply asking Rufus for the 90 day price history tells you this is the regular price.

Also this stuff cools better, but is more expensive: Thermal Grizzly Kryonaut

Might be a good deal, but i looked at my past purchases of MX-4 and I paid the same as this. Maybe i just get lucky and catch it on sale.

I doubt it will. People are buying fewer computer parts due to ram prices, and history shows more supply with less demand= lower prices.

Or 10 years when I build a new rig. Can you please share where this recommendation comes from?

Not sure about solid numbers but thermal paste does dry out and will not be as thermally conductive. More heat = more drying, laptops tend to dry their out and most do not monitor those temps. I've replaced dry thermal paste on many components and it definitely does help with thermal throttling.

That's when the chips were square. Now with the bigger die sizes and rectangular shape, that method no longer applies.

MX-6 - 4g = 5.99 and about 20% better cooling YMMV
