Unlikely. Plastic prong being cut off is bc of the increased spacing between receptacles on a GFCI. Plastic prong would no impact on tripping a breaker (and that poster probably already did, since they're using it)

Purchased several of these outlets without issue. Remember to firmly screw the center screw into the electrical receptical.

One thing worth mentioning these ones caused my AFCI breaker to trip when i try to use the charging ports. If you have AFCI it's annoying. I used same exact ones in other areas where it's not AFCI and it's fine. Just FYI

I use a few of these outlets too with no problems. The price is good, though I do wish it were the PD version.
