This is typically as low as it gets, so might as well pull the trigger and turn off that deal alert.

Just do it. I looked back over my 15+ years of buying this exact program and they're almost always this price, give or take a buck.

"Use freefile!" -- if your return is simple enough for this, HR Block Deluxe is more than you need, anwyay.

"Print and file state to save $20" -- ditto above. My return isn't complex, but the state requires about 30 pages printed, signed, certified mail...the time spent printing, organzizing, and $10+ postage isn't worth it.

As always, YMMV, but I'm speaking to the target audience here. Worst tax program available...except for all the others. Check your own math where you can. It's not flawless (especially state). However, most of the errors I've found are redundancies, not major omissions, so easy to fix. The error check (ironically) finds most of the stuff the program failed to do.

Got VPN Bundle as my current will expire this year but this looks good too for folks not needing VPN. Shame on states still allowing TPAs to charge to efile.

Wow, I just scored big time. I had a Newegg AMEX offer that I activated and forgot about: Earn 1% back on purchases, up to a total of $250. I just got 23 cents back!

Now, every time I spend money on tax software, I wonder if I should start a daycare...

This is literally the only thing I buy from Newegg, ever. I wish Amazon would sell it for a few bucks more than this, I hate Newegg.. but I don't hate them enough to pay $13 more.

Windows 11 is a hot mess, it might be "S" mode messing you up. I recently bought a new laptop that came with 11, wiped it and installed windows 10 clean using MasGrave to enable 3 years ESU updates.
Thank you for taking the time to pass on that information. Hubby spent all day on this, just let me have it back to check email, etc. I will see if we can do this.

Same here. I only buy this from NewEgg.

Just bit the bullet and got it. Its 50 cents more than what I paid last time. Tired of waiting.

Wait and watch. Now that I bought it, it will come for 18 after gift card like the year before last and before. Big Grin

This is not entirely true.
"Free File options are available through the state's partnership with the Free File Alliance for taxpayers with lower incomes (e.g., federal AGI ≤ $89,000 for 2025). However, the software provider may still charge a base fee for preparing the state return (e.g., FreeTaxUSA charges $15.99 to prepare the NY return, but does not add an extra e-filing fee on top of that)."
What I said is 100% correct.

I always use online TurboTax offering that costs like $100+. Is this really going to save me all that money?
Yep! I made the mistake of using the online TurboTax because everyone said it's so much better. I found it really wasn't any better or worse (it's tax software after all) but like you it was well over $100. With this you get five federal e-files including at no charge but pay for the state e-file, approximately $20 (YMMV) but don't elect to pay out of your return (provided you're getting one) or they charge you extra. Pay with a credit card or bank account.

Even at that price I still refuse to pay to file my taxes.

Can I use this to file online via their website account?
No, this is for software you download to your PC/Mac.

So I already paid $2 more and its worth it not to have to read all the FreeTax Fanboy posts. See you all next tax year!

You should continue using it and stay out of these H&R Block or TurboTax threads in that case.
Amen brother!
