have had this exact unit for almost a year, I believe i paid $500. Its freaking awesome, colors are amazing out of the box, and I believe the panel is made by LG. $380 is a steal for this Oled, i just ordered a second one!

I bought this monitor as my first OLED about a month ago at the same price($380), initially I was not used to OLED and it was hard on my eyes and made me feel a bit dizzy.

I was questioning the quality of this Acer product and didn't like that the Costco model didn't have much info online about it.

I ordered an ASUS XG27AQDMG for about $520 and was hoping I'd like it more and I could return the Costco monitor.

I found the ASUS monitor to be no better than the Acer. I decided to return the ASUS and just be happy with the Acer as my first OLED.

I think this is a solid monitor and I will save some money for a better OLED in the future.

My two cents. Have a great day, nerds(I am one too)!

Can we switch to focusing 4K now? I know OLED > mini LED but every company is prioritizing 1440p everything

I've had this monitor since release--it's gorgeous, and it has a 100W USB-C passthrough that makes charging devices at your desk very convenient.

But I would buy the same panel from another manufacturer for one reason: the image retention pixel refresh reminder that pops up constantly and cannot be disabled. It will pop up in the middle of your screen while you are gaming. It's just a message "reminding" you to run a pixel refresh, and it's incredibly obnoxious. You can slightly alleviate the annoyance by making the menu system transparent and moving it to a bottom corner of the screen, but it's still an absolute deal-breaker for someone trying to be "competitive" in their games. An unskippable menu will literally pop up at random and cover part of your screen multiple times per day. You have to just let it sit there for a while until it disappears again, or physically press the buttons on your monitor in the middle of your game. But if you accidentally hit "yes" instead of "no" while fiddling with the goofy-ass button, then you just disabled your monitor for 6 minutes to run a pixel refresh. They say the message comes up every 4 hours, but in my experience there is no rhyme or reason to when or why it decides to pop up. It will pop up one hour into a gaming session, then pop up again 2 hours later.

The panel is outrageously good for the money, but this one utterly stupid design flaw kinda ruins the whole experience. You can find the same 1440p/240hz panel from several manufacturers, and since it's not the latest gen of OLED any more, they're all going for dirt cheap. The annoying pop-up menu is exclusive to this ACER model.

Why do you want 4k gaming? GPU isn't going to be good enough to get high frame rates. There aren't many games that look so much better because it's in 4k.

I bought this last time it was posted here on sale from costco. Replaced an acer predator 1440 165hz IPS panel. Let me say first that i have a advantage in my use case in that i have a pc that is a dedicated gaming rig. That's all it does and that's what this monitor is hooked to. I don't have to worry about anything other than games.

That said, it looks fantastic. Rich colors, inky blacks (i mean, its oled) and it runs surprisingly cool. Panel is super thin, which is neat. I could not be more pleased with how my games look on this thing. Even old stuff that doesn't support HDR look better. 280hz is overkill since im still running a 3080ti but it's nice it's there. I would, however, be hesitant to use this in a mixed use setup and would def not use it for a productivity setup.

The panel is glossy coated, which i believe most oleds are. Not my preference but i don't have a light source behind me so not hugely impactful. Has a lot of "don't let my oled burn in" tech including the "image rentention refresh" which tries to run ever 4 or 6 (forget which) hours of use. There is an option to turn it off, but i left it and the rest enabled. It isn't a big deal for me personally but i can surely see it annoying others. Lastly a note on gysnc. My last monitor was gsync and this one is. obviously, not. I haven't noticed any difference in game play using freesync instead.

All that said i a very happy with my purchase and would buy it again.

edit:
Thanks for input. I tested the Best Buy AOC or ROC, can't remember brand name last month that was also $380. I agree that if used for productivity, that throws a wrench into things. For gaming sessions it was great.

With OLED, especially QD-OLED, you want a higher PPI since the pixel layout causes a lot of edge fringing like with text and that can be uncomfortable for people to look at if they want to use their monitors for mixed use gaming/productivity. LCDs don't have this problem. WOLED have other, arguably, less annoying issues. So, something like 4K on a 32" will have a higher PPI then 1440p at 27" which is why it's important for some people even if they aren't (or aren't capable of) running games at 4K.

EDIT: To be clear, you can still render games at lower resolutions to avoid the 4K FPS penalty and get pretty much the same experience.
