My Amazon account is showing a coupon for this item, bringing the total down to $63.48. YMMV!
Coupon states it's for 20% off sports apparel & equipment until 2/2.

Baggage handlers are awful. Go hard sided bag only. Risking damage to your clubs on a golf trip only to have to try and get compensation from an airline isn't worth the extra $ of savings for a soft bag.

You're right, these oversized, heavy bags get tossed around.. much moreso than regular luggage.

I've made over a dozen trips with a soft bag and my clubs survived. I do detach the club head and bring it in my carry on. It is still risky with just the driver shaft and hybrids from snapping. I do throw in some clothing on top of the golf bag inside the case to provide some cushioning and that seemed to help.

The only problem with hardcase is the added weight, which could tip your cost to overweight fees etc. making your trips more expensive

Good price, these bags work much better if you get a Stiff Arm to make them a little more rigid. Something like this or similar: https://www.amazon.com/Bag-Boy-Ba...B008FW82YQ
Also recommend putting a towel around the club heads. I've traveled a dozen times to and from with my soft bag (not this model) with this setup and never had issues. I'm going to send this deal/link to my buddies that don't have travel bags yet.

Anyone try putting the club heads in a Home Depot bucket as a way to give the clubs some extra protection?
