Are these a good brand?
Have used ski goggles before, and even cheap ones make a big difference!

Yes, Smith is one of the top manufacturers of snow goggles. For $50, these should be much better quality lenses that you'd get from an off-brand comparable product on Amazon. I've heard good things about the Chromapop lenses. I only have a couple of biking sunglasses from Smith and the lenses are fantastic.

For sure. I have their ski goggles and sunglasses and I'm happy with both.

Also agree that Smith is a great brand. I have goggles and sunglasses from them.

I bought my son the Smith Optics Proxy ChromaPop Gold Bar goggles from this site a few weeks ago. They're great and a huge discount off MSRP. The lenses are very nice and a big step up from the goggles at Costco. Very nice contrast and anti fog. They're not the most tinted so a bit better for overcast days.

I'm considering getting myself the OTG ones as I have glasses.

These are good. Not quite as good as Oakley's in my mind but definitely the best you can get in this price range.

Have been on the slopes for 20 years and tried numerous goggles over the years. SMITH's basic goggles are complete trash, those cheap Chinese $7 goggles you can pick-up on some Amazon sale usually beat their lowest end models slam-dunk. I have tried SMITH's photochromic goggles and liked them a lot but they are ridiculously over priced in the $180+ range with cheap $40 Chinese brands you can find on AliExpress performing comparably. I have not tried their ChromaPop lens technology so I can't speak for it but if you're going to shell out somewhere around $50 for good ski goggles I would still pick the photochromic goggles on AliExpress since they perform as well as SMITH's highest end goggles.

EyeDictive for some reason never list the VLT for any of the glasses they sell. So just have to Google it.

I couldn't find the guide on smith's website, but this is likely just as good:

Good goggles but the cheaper smiths tend to have the foam start to degrade faster in my experience.

At this price though, definitely worth it if you need it.

Smith is probably the oldest brand in Ski googles. I've had many different ones (different styles) over the years and all were very good. Like most companies, they may manufacturer these cheaper ones in various places around the world, but they are still likely to be better quality, than any no name brand.

Any thoughts if these would fit a 11 yo or if they'd be too big?
