I have 2 of their humidifiers that work well and have a phone app to control it and set schedules. If I didn't have 5 Winix C545 already, I might have considered this. Maybe when one of mine dies (unlikely anytime soon, they are build well)

I don't think your Winix is going to fail. I have 2 5500 series that have ran almost every day for 11 years now.
How much are their filters? Do you have the 5500-2? Do you change them every 3 or 6 months?
I have the two square 5500 series that I replace the filters every year. I get a 2 pack off amazon for like $30. HEPA filters should last about that long if you have decent air quality (i.e. no smoke, pollution, tons of pets); the charcoal filters (for smell) need to be replaced about that often or on an as needed basis. I have a pretty clean house with no pets but keep it for allergies. I also just recently got a round 800 series as my pet-free lifestyle is about to change w/ the addition of a kitty.
