Just got an email from harbor freight tools. They are having a sidewalk sale starting tomorrow for three days only. One of the items on sale is the 1195 lb. capacity folding trailer.

This trailer retails for $339

link http://www.harborfreight.com/cpi/...mber=90154

The sale says it is going for $259.99

Use the printable coupon for an additional 20% off (works on the sale price, read the fine print)

link http://www.harborfreightusa.com/u...ekend.html

This should bring the cost down to $208 plus tax. I have one of these and they are really handy and store in the corner of my garage. Not much work to put together either.

Yes. The size of the bed is 48 x 96. One standard sheet of plywood cut into two will fit the bed. It also comes with stake mounts on the sides so you can add sides quite easily.

sweet going to try to pick up tomorrow. Seems like a great price. Could even resell... so might buy 2 to pay for first one.

They also sell a spare tire kit for this. Probably a good idea to pick that up. I have this trailer and it folds up nicely and comes with caster wheels so you an maneuver it for storage.

The first line of the 20% coupon says "Can not be used with any other discount or coupon" So it seems these coupons will not stack, but hey, try it any way, just know YMMV

I have seen some trailers with registration plates. Does this require as well?

You can normally stack the 20% with a regular sale price, but not the 20% with a "coupon sale" price. (i.e. where you need a coupon to get the sale price). In fact, at my store, they have to split my order if I have a 20% off with any other coupons (not even applied to the same thing).

For the poster that asked about trailer registrations: Check your State's DMV. Many states require trailer registrations. The trailer comes with title-like paperwork that you would use to register it.

These things come unassembled in a few boxes, and they are heavy! And the nuts are all nylon lock-nuts and take forever to tighten. I've built two of these (one folding, one non-folding). Once assembled, they are good trailers.
Oh, and I would take extra care on the wiring, waterproof the connections with RTV or something. I had to put a few ground jumpers on the frame of the folding one to get a good ground all the way back to the rear lights.

OP, isn't a standard sheet of plywood 4 x 8? So shouldn't one fit in this trailer without having to cut it in half?

Thanks in advance.

Rip the hinge out of the middle it is stupid... The paint as the paint must be water based but after that you have a good cheap trailer

Your best bet is to call your local DMV... Here in TN we don't need tags for trailers. But if we travel out of state with them, we must have tags as most of the surrounding states require them.

That was my initial thought when I read it.

I haven't seen the trailer for myself yet, but I think the OP was stating the plywood needed to be cut so the trailer could be folded up still.

You can't fold it in 1/2 if you use a full sheet. I use one of these to haul 3 dirtbikes around (two face forward one back). Once you get used to how flexible it is, it works fine.
