"Don't waste your time and money. These boards are warping, cracking and shedding bamboo after less than four uses. They were not put in the dishwasher, they were not soaked in water. They were used to chop vegetables a couple times and they are all garbage now unfortunately. I don't know how there are so many positive reviews. I read a lot of reviews before purchasing these and had high hopes that if I cared for them, they would last. Unfortunately not."

Googled it for you: "which can hold bacteria for longer metal or bamboo cutting board"
Bamboo cutting boards can generally hold bacteria for longer or provide a more suitable environment for them to persist compared to metal (specifically stainless steel) cutting boards, particularly when the bamboo board becomes heavily used and scratched.
Here is a breakdown of the bacterial retention for each material:
- Bamboo: Although bamboo has some natural antimicrobial properties, it is a porous material. As it is used, it develops grooves and scratches where food particles and bacteria can become trapped. These scratches, combined with the material's ability to hold moisture, can allow bacteria like E. coli and Salmonella to survive, especially if not dried properly.
- Metal (Stainless Steel): Metal cutting boards are non-porous and do not absorb liquids, food particles, or odors. Because bacteria cannot penetrate the surface, they are easily removed during washing, resulting in lower residual contamination compared to wood or bamboo. However, stainless steel does not have antimicrobial properties, so while it is easy to sanitize, it does not actively kill bacteria.
