Some recent reviews say these were close to the best by date. I've had the same with other Lay's assortments.

I find the same, the majority of these "save off first subscription" is just AMZ liquidating stock. Every once in a while you'll get stock thats super fresh but likely that was extra sales.
Other times the contents themselves were found to be poorer quality such as green beans were like soft and wilted not crisp - now I just go for well packaged items that typically are good 6mo beyond BB dates... but the deals are really good sometimes so hard to ignore

If I do subscribe and save do I have to try to get this item to ship immediately or can I wait for my shipment later this month? Sometimes I get cancellations on these Slickdeals because it sells out.
