If you need 11 powered channels in one box & after Dirac, this is likely the best choice ime.

If you're not in a hurry, the new RZ71 is scheduled for release sometime at the end of the year-beginning of 2027.
The prices should start to drop more in that timeline for this.

People claim one significant upgrade will be access to Dirac ART.
Keep in mind the likely cost of the RZ71 will be significantly higher than this & to get ART will cost you another $600 on top of that(if you use a subwoofer).

Only buy if:

1) You don't care about Dirac ART
2) You have no more than 2 SWs
3) Can't wait for the RZ71 in 2027

Based on the media shared at CES this month, it looks like they're still a ways off from making ART a reality so I'm thinking closer to the end of 2027 rather than the beginning!

The Denon x3800h has been out since the summer of 2022 & offers pretty much what the RZ71 will.
Even now that ART is finally available, you don't see a big uptick in sales.

The RZ71 will likely cost much more PLUS cost you another $600 even for ONE subwoofer for ART!

In my experience you should have at least two quality subs & at the very least your base layer speakers be full range/reference to make it worthwhile.

Heck the majority don't even think DLBC is worth the cost let alone ART!

You're a good example, you have the 3800, last you stated you only have Dirac LiveFB.
Have you purchased DLBC and or ART?

Are you planning to pay all the way to Dirac ART? If not, then this is a good alternative if you have no more than 2 SWs (note this RZ70 has been cheaper...).

The 50 is a great unit but only makes sense if you prefer their signature sound and willing to pay a high price for it.

This only makes sense is if you NEED 11 channels & all in one unit.

People bring up ART & it's very good.
Having set it up on 4 different setups(including mine).
Imo it's only really worth it if at the very least, your base layer speakers are all reference level & at least two solid/capable subwoofers.

If you don't, DLBC is all you really need ime.

A significant plus for Denon/Marantz.
You have access to A1EVO!It basically offers the same performance as Dirac Live and DLBC at no cost!
You would have to add DLBC for $300 to this for the equivalence.
The current models(which includes the 50) offers Directional sub setting which works under the same theory as ART!

Two I would suggest to look into also, the 3800 and RZ30.
