I've never owned a dash cam that I didn't run from the car's 12V battery. That allows it to watch over the car when it's parked.

I wonder how well thr solar battery works. If it only lasts 2-3 days I think it's pretty good.

It's a nice idea but hard wired or a dedicated battery set up is better than a cam with a built in battery.

I'm sorry. The dedicated battery is what got me. Mine are wired too, but a dedicated battery for a dashcam??

Internal battery. Suboptimal for hot climates.

I mean, it's okay- it'll only take... dunno... 7 more years for car makers to outfit the cars with dedicated USB C ports front and back for dashcams?

My daugher has a pos Yaris and I got this so that I can monitor her driving. It's come in handy and works really well. I'm sure the battery will give out over time, but it should last a good few years and getting it all plugged up and working was super easy.

I don't but are you not aware some people have a battery so they can run parking mode for longer periods of time? Some people also prefer the battery vs hard wiring to their car. They wouldn't exist if people weren't buying them.

I wouldnt trust the reviews on Amazon, this product is frequently returned for a reason. I've been contacted plenty of times by the companies to leave a good review and they will return my money.
