I just listened to a play through, and he clearly says Rise from your Grave. - I Never played it on anything but the Genesis and thought 'was I just misremembering how poor the speech was?" but then I saw your comment and checked. yep, that was the SNES version. the genesis definitely sounded like it had a speeth ihmepedimenph

I'm a Sega fanboi through and through (even bought a Sega CD using my own money), but the SNES was undoubtedly the superior technical machine with a better sound chip, more colors, and Mode 7 hardware scaling and rotation. Only thing the Genesis had was "blast processing", a marketing term for a faster processor.

Genesis does what Nintendo'nt!

I have the Sonic & Tails one and really like them. It's a neat knick-knack and it looks fun on my computer desk.

Not sure I like Altered Beast enough for this one (especially not sub $10). I'd love a Streets of Rage or Toe Jam & Earl though.

There is no SNES version of Altered Beast. You may be thinking of the Arcade or other ports later in life?

maybe. I never knew of AB on another platform - I thought it was one of the genesis only games, since it was bundled. but above commenter seemed to imply there was a SNES version, but maybe he was just commenting that the sound card in the genesis was garbage compared to SNES. however, the clip I saw online was much clearer than we all see to remember - maybe it was emulated and thats why I sounded clearer? I see partly why I was confused, the YouTuber who posted it was called NintendoComplete. add that to the above and I incorrectly assumed (although it does say Sega on the game lol) it was Nintendo version.
Altered Beast (Genesis) Playthrough - NintendoComplete. I cant tell if this is an emulated version that might somehow make it sound better though.
