Going back to the Nintendo and sega master system.
Going back to the Nintendo and sega master system.
Other examples of OEM controllers NOT being anywhere close to good as other available options:
-N64, analogs had drift AND lack of return AND grinding.
-countless different Dualshock / Dualsense had drift issues and countless other analog related problems
-Xbox has multiple class actions due to potentiometer "ghost input" problems.
-OG Sega controllers were famous for their cord 'fragility' (especially if you wrapped the cord around the controller....like we all did)
-Saturn controllers had a weird issue with the hall magnet dropping out, making the controller worthless, etc
If you want more evidence Google "(any system) + "controller problem." It will likely destroy your rose colored nostalgia.
TLDR: There are a LOT of 3rd party controllers that are massive upgrades to even great OEM controllers, that is not debatable no matter how many "that's a fact" you claim.
That being said, I agree most OEM controllers are normally decent but does not disprove other better options existing at the same time, nor does that disprove the objective existence of problems with many OEM controllers, especially 1st gen models.
Frankly, I think you are confusing the fact there are a lot of junk 3rd party controllers with intrinsic OEM quality. But please do not conflate the existence of knockoffs to mean that all original equipment is magically superior....especially with all the premium / pro / esports options available now, and for the last 40 years.

And "rage baiting?" Attacking me....twice...in a single sentence while adding zero to the conversation? You'd have to be "stupidly dense" to think your reply to me was anything but rage baiting. Unlike you, I've actually discussed the topic at hand and without ad hominem jabs.
If you really wanted to talk this, please let me know how the OEM Xbox One controller is "better" than something like the Victrix Pro BFG or Razer Wolverine? "Design or functionality" to be specific. Heck, if you really want to throw a curve ball into the discussion, Microsoft released the Elite Series, which blows their own OEM controllers out of the water, same manufacturer, but certainly a massive upgrade to the "OEM" version that shipped with the console. Also a lot of people think the 8Bitdo's are better than Xbox or Switch controllers...and cheaper as well.
And again, not saying, OEM = bad, but only, OEM ≠ the best that can ever be or has ever been. Hardly a "rage bait" kinda statement....

Not impacting all users but it took Nintendo several years to even admit the problem and now they are still having to fix them 9 years after the Switch 1 released...regardless of warranty (nor has Nintendo seemingly fixed the root cause of the drift issue either).

why do you constantly lie and spew nonsense here?
Three class action lawsuits found within 2 seconds of googling. A shorter period of time than your own "lies" and "nonsense" took to "spew."
And my prior links did clearly point to the fact Nintendo has a recall (aka return) and repair process for their Switch 1. You even quoted them. You do know what a "recall" means....right? You return (aka "recalled") the impacted device for repair and / or replacement. It doesn't mean that you take your Switch to the Nintendo dealer like you do with a Honda nor does it need to be government mandated, if that is what you pretended I was claiming.

LOL, that aged poorly

you got caught lying and continue to make a fool of yourself.

no, you are continuing to lie once again. there has not been a single recall for any controller made by Nintendo for the Switch. you clearly have absolutely no idea what you are talking about.
do you understand what a recall is? do you understand what a class action lawsuit is? because neither have been successfully filed by or against Nintendo, so for the 3rd time now: you have no idea what you are talking about and continue to make a fool of yourself.
but be my guest and continue to beg for attention here on SD, "WooHoo2You". i enjoy laughing at your ignorance every time you comment on things that are above your understanding. :-)
oh, and once again, you got caught lying and making a fool of yourself:

it didn't take them several years, they have been servicing defective controllers ever since the Switch 1 was released. I have no idea why you feel the need to continue to lie, but it is absolutely hilarious.
Sorry for whatever you are going through but ranting at me over Switch controllers ain't going to help.
Feel free to have the last word, clearly you need it.
BTW, in case you weren't paying attention here are THREE CLASS ACTIONS in a single link.

a "return process" is not a "recall", which you should know especially since you felt the need to cite Honda who has actually issued recalls dozens of times. Nintendo has never issues one at all.
hold another L, "WooHoo2You". you constantly make a fool of yourself here for all of us to laugh at, so thank you for that :-)
