These boots are built well but I find that wolverine insoles are pretty flat and don't provide much support.

And most of their shoes (in my experience) don't provide adequate space to put heavy duty insoles in, to make matters worse. So I always need to end up coming up with a compromise (slightly worse insole than I want)

I bought some Durashocks (not these) about a year ago. They were the first pair of work boots I ever had to get aftermarket insoles right after buying them. I've never had a pair of work boots, even the cheap ones, make me feet hurt like these. It's taken most of this year for them to even start getting broken in. Sturdy boot, but uncomfortable as hell. I probably won't be going back to Wolverine when these wear out.

How are these as hiking boots? I'm willing to swap the insoles.

Different sizes are different prices. 10 wide is $91.

I'm shocked that it seems the whole sizes are 149.00. The half sizes are xwide and cheaper weird. That being said I have worn the Durashocks on my feet for 3 years now at work. I'm a plumber so they get a workout. The only down thing I notice is the outside toe leather wears out if I work on my knees a lot. I can see the composite toe guards a little.

I haven't had a pair of these for about 10 years. Are they built as good as they used to be and are they still comfortable?

Not a bad looking work boot but once you go side zipper there's no going back.

I've owned about 10 Wolverine's boots over the last 15 years. After I got my first durashocks I was never able to go back to any other work boot. It was incredibly comfortable and breaks in nicely. My only complaints are I'm not a huge fan of their insoles because they tend to be flat and the 8" sometimes separates at the stitching on the back. I've had to redo the stitching on 2 of my 8" so far within a year. I usually buy some Dr scholls gel/work inserts and you end up having an amazing work boot. For reference I've owned redwings, danners, irish setter, timberland pros, keen, thorogoods and a few cheaper brands throughout my career. The wolverine I-90 durashock waterproof 8" have been my favorite so far. These boots are kind of close to them but a little stiffer, not as water resistant and a little less traction.
