Klipsch Flexus Core 210 is a compact 3.1.2 soundbar package that stands out for easy setup, strong bass from the included 10 inch subwoofer, and a fuller sound than smaller bars. The app, build quality, and overall value at $379 get positive marks, and the system can sound surprisingly convincing for TV and movie use. The main knocks are inconsistent dialogue clarity, unconvincing Atmos effects for some content, and the fact that it still cannot match a full AV receiver and separate speakers. The coupon code also appears to have expired at times, so pricing has been a moving target.

  • The package delivers strong bass during action scenes with the included 10-inch subwoofer.

  • The setup process stays simple because the system can be unboxed, plugged in, and turned on.

  • The soundbar can produce a full, compact sound that impresses for a family room setup.

  • The $79 add-on for the subwoofer can feel like a no-brainer when the standalone soundbar is already owned.

  • Dialogue clarity can vary noticeably depending on whether dialogue is mixed with soundtrack or background noise.

  • Atmos effects may feel unconvincing compared with a higher-end Samsung Q950a setup.

  • Coupon codes can fail with an order-qualification error when promotions are not active for the item.

  • Sound quality impressions can start underwhelming even when the hardware build quality and app look strong.

Picked up one of these... So far, not that impressed with the sound. Great looking hardware though. Solid and well built. The app is nice too.
If I keep it... it will definitely require some tuning.
Did you try a good Dolby Atmos soundtrack on it?

Yeah - just talked to sales at Adorama and coupon is no longer valid. (at least for this item?) but seems like it goes on sale fairly frequently so I'll keep my eyes open for an updated coupon.

Update: as of Feb. 14th, code works again. Thanks all! Happy Singles Awareness Day. <3

My quick review after having this for a few days:
Pros:
- strong bass from the bar and subwoofer kicks in when there are strong action scenes. Netflix movie The Rip was a good test.
- relatively easy setup

Cons:
- dialogue clarity is hit or miss. In dialogue forward content like watching a show such as shrinking or Ted lasso, it's not a problem. But when you are watching a movie where dialogue is intertwined with a soundtrack or background noise, clarity sometimes drops noticeably. I currently have dialogue enhancement set to high and mids boosted to +3.
- Atmos effects are not convincing. My older Samsung Q950a has noticeable Atmos effect clarity.

Summary: I was surprised at how full this soundbar is. Without the subwoofer, it's a more full sound than from my time with a Bose 600 soundbar. The subwoofer is stronger than my Q950a soundbar. The varying dialogue clarity is an annoyance. For this price, it's definitely a high value that I have a hard time fully regretting. For $450-$500+, I would be considering other options.

I didn't interpret chickdr as saying soundbar and separate components system are comparable. Sounded to me like they were explaining how a soundbar simulates a separate components system, not that they are comparable, it was stated that their main component system sounds great and that the soundbar in different room sounds good for what it is.
Exactly what I was saying. Some folks like to try to sound very important on the internets....

You're conflating again.
This discussion is not about what someone is convinced of, no debating that.
It is about two completely different surround designs.

Unless a soundbar can defy physics.
That ONE speaker can not "do the jobs" of a traditional speaker setup!
It's designed to simulate it mainly through technology.

Anyone that claims they are comparable did not properly implement their traditional speaker setup imo.
Again, conflating is a strong word. Not at all what I am saying. I didn't say anything about a soundbar being identical to separates with an AV receiver. But, for many folks, the experience will be very hard to discern. A good quality soundbar will give excellent results for a HT setup and at a fraction of the effort needed for separate speakers.

Probably unpopular here. But get a low cost receiver and center channel speaker for about the same money. This is what I did and I have to say the sound quality is so much better that I am getting unsolicited feedback from anyone that visits about how good the sound is even without noticing the change from a soundbar.
Receiver and speakers are mainly for the living room. This is more for the bedrooms. Most ppl dont put receivers and large speakers in bedrooms.

Anyone have any experience with this vs the JBL Bar 500 / 500 MK2?
