Excellent deal! $399 comes up often, for $20 less, it's definitely a buy in my opinion.

It's a great deal. I have the standalone soundbar which I bought last year for $300, and I've been very happy with it. $79 more to add the sub is a no brainer.

Now if I just can find a deal on the standalone sub, I'll be all set. I don't ever see it go on sale by itself unfortunately.

Buy the package and sell the new bar as new to offset the price.

Probably unpopular here. But get a low cost receiver and center channel speaker for about the same money. This is what I did and I have to say the sound quality is so much better that I am getting unsolicited feedback from anyone that visits about how good the sound is even without noticing the change from a soundbar.
its not a question if receiver and speakers will sound better, of course they will, but sound bars take less space, are easy to connect and don't need to run cables.

Bought this version for 399 and the soundbar only version for 249 last year, don't regret either purchase, the sound is amazing. Plugged an old 8" infinity sub in on the other and it does just fine.

You are correct but practicality often beats seeking the best SQ. It's f(time, space, wife), the 3rd variable being very strong in most cases.

Own this speaker, very happy with the sound, great value at this price. May buy it again just for the subwoofer and sell the speaker as others suggested.

You are absolutely right, of course, if sound quality is the only criteria. Once space restrictions and spouse approval enter the equation, things can get complex and nuanced quickly.

Hey Adorama, can you please put the subwoofer on sale? My "friend" bought the sound bar last year and now wants the sub. Thanks!

Are you saying add a receiver and center channel speaker alone? Then you don't get the surround sound and sub benefits this deal gives you. Now if you mean a full surround package with a 5/7/9 channel receiver, R/C/L, surround speakers and a sub, completely agree.

I don't think anyone looking at a Klipsch product cares about sound quality.

I don't get why there aren't a Class D style amp that is 3.1 instead of 2.1. I get 2.1 for bookshelf speakers and a sub but a small left, center, right, sub combo would be so good for a basic tv setup compared to sound bars but you pretty much have to get a larger and expensive 5.1 channel receiver.
