While this is a good price, I'm a little concerned about the lack of condition stated, and the fact it only has a 90 day woot warranty.

I purchased one of these the last time they were at this price - it was obviously used but in good condition and nothing missing - I contacted Woot! and they refunded my money and didn't require me to return it. I'm not suggesting that anyone do the same, just relating my experience. I'm pretty leery of any Woot! deals at this point.

Also I'm usually not a fan of 5 port switches (they leave little room since a minumum of 3 ports will be in use right out of the box), but the price and some management capability of this smart switch make it a pretty nice deal as long as a NIB switch is shipped. I feel like Woot! is just an outlet for returned Amazon items, and to your point, they should state that in the desciption.

Could you share what hardware version it has? V3, V4, V5, V5.6?

Sure - it's 5.6 PM'd as well. That was back in April 2025 though - so you may receive a different version.

Here's the deal I purchased it on from back in April '25:

https://slickdeals.net/f/18254602-5-port-gigabit-easy-smart-switch-14-99-free-shipping-w-prime?src=SDSearchv3&attrsrc=Thread%3AExpired%3ATrue%7CSearch%3AType%3Anormal%7CSearch%3ASort%3Arecent%7CSearch%3AHideExpired%3Afalse

Woot! listed it as new back then:

https://sellout.woot.com/offers/5...770a82b82d

The item I received was complete, but not repackaged well, obviously a return. YMMV.

I'm actually in the exact same boat. I ordered two thinking it was a great deal for two spots I had in mind where I need a small switch and was just delaying buying the eight port version until a sale. But getting two for less than price of 1 eight port seemed like a pretty sweet deal.

I was about to mention in the other TP-link five port switch thread for the litewave version that for a buck more this seemed like a no-brainer choice between the metal case and managed features. When I went back to the boot page, I noticed the condition wasn't listed, and there was no factory warranty. And I really didn't want to deal with returned old hardware, so I canceled the order.

Whether this is new old stock or refurbished, or God knows what, I just don't want to have to mess with a switch of questionable provenance. It's one of those devices. I really just want to plug in, configure my VLANs, and not touch again

Yeah I suspect the smart managed switches are returned by people thinking they're "dumb" plug and play switches, and get frustrated by having to configure a managed switch and return them, I suspect a lot of the returns are in good condition, the one I received certainly is and had all the packaging intact, just slightly amiss indicative of a return.

Reading this post, and seeing that you'd posted that was a recent hardware version, I thought maybe I should get one just to see. Of course they're sold out. Hahaha. Maybe next time.
